What Can I Do to Help?
I'm glad you asked! One of the most important and most impactful ways to help, especially in critical times such as these,
is to spread the word. You will find some effective ways to do this in the "Further Steps to Take" checklist below.
Some other really important actions to take (that I will also elaborate on & break down into smaller tasks in the checklist) are to
keep yourself educated, aware, and up-to-date with everything that is involved in these issues in the Black Community.
Additionally, it is important that you spread love through and through, and that you keep in touch with any and all close
connections that you feel would be beneficial to this cause.
Right about now, you may be wondering why it's so important that you take these action steps to move
forward. If you check off every item on this checklist, and even continue to do more, then you will have taken part in building
the foundation of self-love, self-respect, self-esteem, togetherness, and support within the Black Community.
And that's really what it's all about!

SPREAD THE WORD
- Use your social media platform as a way to provide resources to promote engagement in your local community
- Attend city town hall meetings, school board meetings, etc. and enforce effective change from within
STAY EDUCATED & AWARE
- Research, read, watch documentaries, etc. about mental & emotional [health] issues arising within the Black Community
- Use social media (as in, follow all the right platforms) as a way to stay up-to-date on these kinds of arising issues in the Black Community
SPREAD LOVE
- Volunteer (and even become a mentor!) at your local community centers
- Find a way to provide counseling for young black students
- Become of provide Black Student Union (BSU) advisors who can host workshops or classes relating to self-improvement, self-management, self-esteem, self-advocacy, self-development, etc.
- Brainstorm ideas about BSU groups that teach young black children to love and uplift each other and/or Black Community outreach programs with children empowerment groups (If you have the right resources, you can take these ideas to the next level!)
CLOSE CONNECTIONS
- Reach out to your local non-profit black community center & request specific resources and support for adults & children
- Reach out to black, educated speakers who can encourage the Black Community to support and build community engagement (Take a step further and even have them speak to large ethnic groups!)
Remember, there needs to be a large, impactful rise in self-love, self-respect, self-esteem, togetherness, and support within the
Black Community. So in everything you do, be sure that you are building the foundation of these 5 powerful and critical aspects
within my community.
